Famed for hits like ‘Fix You’ and ‘Hymn for the Weekend’, Coldplay is one of the most recognized and popular pop music bands globally. Moreover, it is also one of the few mainstream bands that have performed in India (in 2016) and has millions of fans from the country.
As such, when the band announced that it would be bringing its Music of the Spheres World Tour to India in 2025, music lovers across the nation could not contain their excitement.
Rather, such was the demand and hype that Coldplay announced two new shows in Ahmedabad, a few days after their three previously scheduled ones in Mumbai. However, fans are taking to social media to voice their frustration and extreme disappointment due to alleged technical failures by the ticketing partner, BookMyShow.
Notably, tickets for the Mumbai show, set for January 18, 19, and 21, sold out within minutes of launching on September 22. A similar incident happened today as thousands of tickets for the January 25 and 26 Ahmedabad shows disappeared right before the eyes of those waiting in online queues. Shockingly, many brought to light how they were unable to purchase their tickets despite getting their turn.
Several netizens took to X (formerly Twitter) to share screenshots and snippets of the BookMyShow ticketing system either logging them out or throwing up an error as soon as they made their way through the queue.
From being in line behind hundreds to being displayed the message “It’s Your Turn Now,” users were unable to book a purchase and were taken out of the process and to the back of the queue.
“Went from 809 to It’s your turn now to seat selection. The select button was not functional. Waited forever and could never select the seat,” wrote one user. Moreover, “full scam,” “useless platforms,” and “crying in pain,” were some of the other remarks shared by more such frustrated customers.

Ironically, at the same time, tickets for the same Coldplay Ahmedabad concerts were listed on other ticket reselling platforms at four to five times their price.
BookMyShow has not responded to the user complaints online as of yet.
