While both Akshaye Khanna and Vicky have nailed their looks as Aurangzeb and Sambhaji, it is the diction and tone of the Raazi actor that is widely getting compared with that of Ranveer Singh as Bajirao in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani.
Battle speech is the turning point in any period movie
In most of the period, movies with war as a backdrop, battle speeches, and the address of the leader before the troop's descent on the battlefield are considered very crucial. As Bajirao Peshwa, Ranveer Singh delivered a highly motivating and impactful speech. Importantly, his diction and tone were exactly how a Marathi Brahmin would speak Hindi.
Moreover, even the few words that he spoke in Marathi sounded as if spoken by a true Maharashtrian. Naturally, the impact was enormous. One of the major reasons why Bajirao Mastani was such a huge success was because Ranveer Singh aced the character of Bajirao Peshwe.

Since Vicky Kaushal is also playing a Marathi ruler, the comparison between the two actors is bound to happen. The expectations are quite high from Vicky as he has delivered some remarkable performances in Uri: The Surgical Strike, Masaan, Manmarziyaan, and Sam Bahadur.
The recently released trailer of Chhaava shows Vicky Kaushal delivering an aggressive battle speech. The Josh is top notch but many Reddit users have said that the diction and tone of the actor does not seem true to the character of a Maratha ruler. Many web users have said that Vicky should have worked hard in this area too and at times the aggression seems unwanted and exaggerated. A few have even compared it with the yelling and aggression of Sunny Deol in Gadar.
Reddit users have also compared Chhaava and Bajirao Mastani’s battle speech with that of Gladiator and even then many think that Ranveer Singh’s delivery has been the best even though Gladiator had a better written script.
