Yuvraj Singh, who retired from international cricket in 2019 is often hailed as one of the greatest Indian cricketers and the leading batsman who made India’s victory in the World Cup of 2011 possible. Just like a biopic on MS Dhoni, fans of Yuvi were eager for a biopic on the life of their favourite cricketer.
Now the boss of T-Series, Bhushan Kumar, and Ravi Bhagchandka who heads 200 Not Out Cinema are collaborating for a biopic on the life of Yuvraj Singh . Apart from being a highly successful cricketer, Yuvraj is also a cancer survivor which makes his life story all the more interesting.
While the film has been announced, the makers are yet to finalise the lead actor who will play Yuvraj Singh as well as other actors who will portray important people in the life of Yuvi. But you can always guess and pick up a few Bollywood stars who can be roped in to play the star cricketer.
Kartik Aaryan
Koki just gave a stupendous performance in a biopic titled Chandu Champion. While the movie did touch 100 crores, it failed to become a commercial blockbuster owing to Psunami called Kalki 2898 AD. However, Kartik Aaryan’s huge transformation for Chandu Champion and his acting received a lot of appreciation. He is of the right age and physique to play Yuvi and since has been a hot favourite with Bhushan Kumar chances are that he might get the chance to play the lead in this biopic.
Vicky Kaushal
The Raazi actor is known for taking the lead roles in biopics- be it Sam Bahadur or Sardar Udham. In his latest movie- Chhaava Vicky Kaushal is playing Sambhaji Raje Bhonsle which is also a biopic on a famous historical character. He has been quite impressive in all these biopics and hence could be the first choice to play Yuvraj Singh.
Ranbir Kapoor
Undoubtedly he is one of the best actors in Bollywood today. From Sanju to Animal, Ranbir has been simply unmatched in most of these movies. There is a strong possibility that his name will also turn up when the discussions regarding casting an actor for Yuvraj Singh’s role come into play.
Shahid Kapoor
Sasha was highly impressive as a failed cricketer in Jersey. Although the movie did not do well at the box office his hard work was appreciated. He is also the right age and physique to play Yuvraj and had good training in cricket during Jersey. So Bhushan Kumar and the team might think of Shahid Kapoor as well to play Yuvi.
Ranveer Singh
The Bajirao Mastani actor played Kapil Dev in the biopic of the legendary cricketer titled 83. During the making of this biopic, Ranveer Singh and all the other actors who played cricketers underwent rigorous training to look like professional cricketers. The Bollywood superstar was praised for his immense dedication and acting and hence can be one of the leading choices for playing Yuvraj Singh.
