GenZ actress Ananya Panday was last seen in 2004's CTRL and web series Call Me Bae. Her stellar performances impressed movie lovers and she earned praise from critics as well. While she gave a glimpse into her versatility, now, she is gearing up to woo her fans in completely different avatars in her upcoming films. Since her debut in 2019 with Students Of The Year 2, she has been experimenting with her characters. It seems, she draws inspiration from Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepika Padukone and is a huge fan of the duo.
Kareena's Geet and Poo, Deepika's Naina
During a recent interview with Vogue India, Ananya was asked to reveal the characters she would like to play. In response, the Liger actress named Kareena's Geet from Jab We Met and Poo from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

"I could probably not even give 0.1 per cent of what Kareena did with either of these characters, but, they would be so much fun," said Ananya. She also mentioned Kareena's impeccable performance in Chameli. Further, her list included Konkana Sensharma's role in Luck By Chance and she also named Deepika's Naina from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.
Ananya's Dream Roles
During the same interview, when her Geheraiyaan director Shakun Batra asked about her dream roles, she shared that she wanted to do a biopic. She said, "I don’t think I’ll ever be able to do it, but I like the idea of playing yesteryear actors from the ’50s and ’60s like Madhubala, Meena Kumari and Waheeda Rehman.”
Ananya's Inspiration
Notably, earlier during an interview, Ananya revealed that she drew inspiration from Deepika Padukone while working with her in Geheraiyaan. She praised Deepika for her kindness and support on the set.
During the interview with Forbes, Ananya praised Deepika for her polite assertiveness on set. She also revealed how her Geheraiyaan co-star takes a stand for others. The Dream Girl 2 actress also said that she has learned the importance of setting boundaries through Deepika's example, especially in an environment where women are often labelled as 'bossy' for speaking up. She also stated that working with Deepika was a turning point.
Well, Ananya seems to be quite impressed with Kareena and Deepika, both on-screen and off-screen. Following the path of her seniors, she could probably cement her place in the industry taking up more challenging roles.

Upcoming Projects
On the work front, Ananya's first release in 2025 is expected to be a courtroom drama, with Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan. The movie based on lawyer C. Nair is reportedly titled Kesari Chapter 2: The Jallianwala Bagh and will probably be released on April 18, 2025. Furthermore, she also has a romantic flick Chand Mera Dil with Kill fame Lakshya. Moreover, she has also started working on Call Me Bae: Season 2.
