Shaktimaan is one of the favourite superheroes of kids from the 90s. Mukesh Khanna who played the lead role and also was the producer of this superhero series that ran for years together on Indian television ruled the hearts of young children.
Earlier it was reported that Ranveer Singh would be playing Shaktimaan. But Mukesh Khanna was against him doing the role. Now there is a strong buzz that Allu Arjun has been approached for this iconic role of Indian superhero and he may give his nod to this flick.
Allu Arjun and Basil Joseph to collaborate for Shaktimaan 2.0
Bollywood Bubble has reported that the much ambitious Shaktimaan project will be revived with Allu Arjun and will be directed by Basil Joseph who is known for directing the superhit Malayalam superhero movie Minnal Murali. The report says that Basil is in talks with the Pushpa: The Rise actor and is interested in roping him as Shaktimaan.
The mega-movie will be backed by Sony Pictures and the aim is to honour the essence of the Shaktimaan nostalgia that continues to linger with the television audience of the earlier decades. While the intention is to retain the original essence of Shaktimaan the new team will try to use today’s cutting-edge technology including VFX and CGI to develop a gripping tale.
Bollywood Bubble’s report further says, “Two big international studios set to collaborate with Geetha Arts, with stakeholders from four different industries backing the project.”
It will be a first-of-its-kind role for Allu Arjun and a kind of first true Bollywood movie. Now that his stardom has encompassed pan India, with Shaktimaan, the famous Tollywood actor has a big chance to solidify his position as a pan India superstar.
