Another star kid has now entered Bollywood. Alizeh Agnihotri, the niece of Salman Khan and daughter of Atul Agnihotri who has produced movies like Bodyguard and Bharat made her debut this month with Farrey. The movie received a low opening and interestingly, the promotions for the same were also not very aggressive.
As expected it was mamu Salman Khan who launched Alizeh with his home production SKF and even arranged a screening for the press and Bollywood celebs. Despite not much hype around Alizeh and the movie not turning into a blockbuster, her debut has been hailed, appreciated and critics have said that the newcomer does look promising.
Rather many have even said that it was an unusual movie for a debutant which could well have gone unnoticed expect for the fact that it has come from SKF and also because of solid performance from Alizeh. And it proves one fact that this low profile debut with Farrey will indeed work in favour of the new actress.
When actresses like Sara Ali Khan or Janhvi Kapoor or even Ananya Panday made their debut, they were much talked about discussed prior to their first movie release. Naturally they became almost a known face by the time a Dhadak or Student of the Year 2 hit the theaters. And that is why when the audience went to see their movies, the general expectation was that being from a filmy family and such a known face they are definitely going to rock on the big screen.
But they were as newcomers as others from the outside world and hence faced a lot of flak and criticism. However, since Alizeh Agnihotri’s presence was not so much noticeable on the social media, people went to watch Farrey without much expectations. And to top it all, there is no romantic angle in this movie where Alizeh can do a song around the tree or woo her hero.
It is all about exam scam and the peer pressures that students feel when they go into the outside world and get dimmed by the surrounding affluence. Salman Khan has chosen an entirely different concept from the regular to introduce Alizeh in the movies and the gamble has paid off.
Even Alizeh has confirmed that her choices are different and said, “Every generation of the family should offer something different.”
