Kesari 2 is set to bring alive the Jallianwala massacre incident live on the big screen

Helmed by Karan Singh Tyagi Kesari 2 will revolve around the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and unveil some important incidents related to this chapter in India’s dark history. The teaser of the movie released today shows Akshay Kumar playing Sir C Sankaran Nair, the fearless lawyer from Kerala who fought an epic battle in the courtroom of London at the Court of King’s Bench.

The teaser of Kesari 2 released today opens in a very different way that rattles something inside the core of a person. Instead of any visuals, this 30-second clip teaser opens with the sound of shrills and helpless cries followed by gunfire shots leading to a tense and sorrowful atmosphere.

As the teaser moves forward, Akshay Kumar steps in as the eminent lawyer C Sankaran Nair and is debating with the representative of the British Empire in London’s courtroom. A voiceover says, “You are still a slave to the British Empire.” In reply, Akshay as Nair says only two words.

Kesari showcased the famous Battle of Saragarhi

Kesari, the first movie showed how certain events led to a battle between 21 Sikh soldiers who belonged to the 36th Sikh Regiment of the then British Indian Army. Famously called the Battle of Saragarhi, the Sikh Regiment fought against the 10,000 soldiers from the Orakzai Pashtun and Afridi tribes in 1897.

Kesari 2 is set to hit the theaters on April 18 this year.
