Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is returning to the big screen with Mani Ratnam’s Tamil epic drama Ponniyin Selvan-1 and has already wrapped up the shooting. The movie is scheduled to release in September this year. The latest update is that the former Miss World has signed a new film opposite Tamil superstar Rajinikanth. She was the leading lady in Rajni Sir’s Robot released 12 years ago.
Both Mani Ratnam and Rajinikanth are big names in the Southern film world and hence Ash is expected to make a big impact with her comeback movies. Also, there has been buzz that Baahubali and RRR fame SS Rajamouli will team up with the Bollywood star for his upcoming project. The famous director is working on a new movie with Mahesh Babu and is expected to start working with Jr NTR for yet another project.
Now speculations are adrift that Rajamouli might rope in the Bollywood beauty for his project with Jr NTR but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Over the last few years, Ash has been quite choosey about her movie projects and prefers to work on restricted days so that she can give ample time to her daughter Aaradhya and family members.
The actress recently turned heads with her glamorous appearances on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival 2022. Both Ash and Abhishek Bachchan were the cynosures of all the eyes at the recently held IIFA 2022. From their green carpet appearance to Ash and Aaradhya cheering up Junior Bachchan during his performance, the Bachchans simply rocked IIFA this year.
