With big-budget Bollywood movies underperforming at the box-office producers and even big superstars are on the lookout for a formula or a magic mix that can work wonders for them at the box-office. In 2018, Shah Rukh Khan faced a very tough time with most of his films tanking badly. But he bounced back with Pathaan and Jawan in the action genre.

Since he rarely had done a hardcore action movie, it was a new thing for SRK fans who always saw him as a romantic hero. And that can be one reason why these movies were blockbusters. Currently, big superstars like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, and Akshay Kumar are also going through a bad patch and need big hits to bounce back.

Age-appropriate parings is the way to go

While Salman Khan in the past has worked with very young actresses like Pooja Hegde and Disha Patani, Akshay Kumar has been working with actresses young enough to be his daughters like Manushi Chhillar, and Radhika Madan. Next Salman will be seen opposite Rashmika Mandanna in Sikandar.

This lack of proper age-appropriate balance between the lead star cast is the reason why the audience does not get the expected chemistry in the romantic scenes. All the time when Akshay or Salman tries to romance younger actresses it looks too mechanical. Although Shah Rukh Khan’s chemistry with Deepika Padukone looks good it certainly cannot match the one he had with Kajol, Rani Mukerji, or Madhuri Dixit.

That is why it would be better if they were paired with actresses who are near their age. Most of the actresses from the 90s and 2000s are fit, good-looking, and beautiful even now to make a good pairing with these veteran superstars. Be it Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, Madhuri Dixit, or even Shilpa Shetty most of these actresses are doing wonderfully well on television and OTT platforms.

It has been ages since fans have seen Akshay Kumar-Shilpa Shetty or Shah Rukh Khan Madhuri Dixit romancing on the big screen. Age-appropriate pairing will surely help them to make movies with relatable stories and that is the way towards making blockbuster films.
