Karisma Kapoor also fondly called Lolo by close friends and family members’ turns 49 today. The blue-eyed beauty enjoyed a successful career, broke the Kapoor Khandaan rules to get into movies, and had a bitter breakup with Ajay Devgn and a broken engagement with Abhishek Bachchan. Karisma won National award for role rejected by multiple actresses
The role of Karisma in Dil Toh Pagal Hai was offered to many leading ladies of Bollywood from the 90s including Juhi Chawla, Raveena Tandon, Manisha Koirala, Kajol, and Shilpa Shetty Kundra. But no one wanted to play the second lead next to the leading lady Madhuri Dixit as the character had to compete with the dhak dhak girl in dancing. But Karisma took up the challenge and won a National Award for the same.
Madhuri and Sridevi are Karisma’s inspiration
Heartthrobs of the 90s Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit are the inspiration of Karisma Kapoor and that is one of the reasons she shared the screen with Maddy in Dil Toh Pagal Hai. Incidentally, she also got to share the screen with Sridevi in Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero where both the actresses made a guest appearance.
She is a great believer in numerology
Similar to other big names in Bollywood like Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor, Karisma is a great believer in numerology and hence changed her name from Karishma to Karisma when she ventured into Bollywood.
