As many as 80.83 per cent students have passed the annual high school certificate (HSC) offline examinations, the results of which were announced by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) on Tuesday.
Altogether 15,136 students had appeared for the offline examination after not being satisfied with the marks awarded to them through alternative assessment method. Out of 15,155 students, around 6,596 students have applied for HSC examination, 8,493 for State Open School certificate examination and 66 for Madhyama examination.
A total of 5233 students have cleared the examination while 141 have failed. As many as 3100 boys and 2133 girls have passed the examination.

According to the BSE, 42 students have secured A1 grade, 255 A2, 348 B1, 458 B2, 599 C, 846 D, 2685 E and 141 got grade F.
The board said the grades of 271 students have improved in comparison to the grades they had received in the alternative assessment method. However, 459 students’ grades have reduced as compared to the alternative marks.
The offline examinations were conducted by the BSE between July 30 and August 5 at 504 centres across the State in strict compliance of the SOP issued by the State government in view of the Covid-19 situation.
