In order to tide over the problems faced in the evaluation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has started preparation to implement new assessment plan for Classes IX and X of High School Certificate (HSC) and Madhyama courses for the current academic year.
As many as 96 master trainers from various districts of the State were imparted training in a three-day-long workshop about the conduct of the formative assessment examinations at BSE office in Cuttack on Tuesday. After the completion of the workshop conducted by the board, the master trainers will impart the training to the teachers in their respective districts.
“The first formative assessment of the new scheme for class IX and X students is likely to be implemented from the second week of September. We have organised the three-day-long workshop to make the teachers aware about the implementation of the new scheme,” said BSE President Ramashis Hazra.

According to the board, the new assessment plan will be helpful for the enhancement of intellect among the students.
“With focus on continuous comprehensive evaluation (CCE) internal assessments will be directly conducted at school level,” said BSE Secretary Srikant Tarai.
The master trainers also expressed their satisfaction over the training imparted to them at the workshop.
“We will be able to test various qualities of the students through continuous comprehensive evaluation which will be conducted throughout the academic year,” said Jagannath Sahoo, one of the master trainers.
