The Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE), Odisha seems to be in a fix as several teachers, who were promoted as headmasters two months back, are yet to join their posts. The issue, which has resulted in the absence of headmasters, has resulted in administrative and academic dislocation in those institutions.
Taking a stern view of the situation, the DSE has issued a letter to all District Education Officers (DEOs) except Malkangiri to take appropriate action so that the concerned teachers in their respective districts either join in their allotted place of posting or forgo the promotion.
“As per report, some teachers have not yet joined in their place of posting after being promoted to the cadre of Sr. SES Headmaster. These teachers have already been relieved from the post of Assistant teachers consequent to their promotion. In the meantime more than two months have already elapsed and due to non- joining of these teachers as Headmaster, administrative and academic dislocation has occurred in those institutions,” the DSE letter read.
