Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said JEE, NEET, and UGC examinations will now be conducted in Indian languages. Engineering is also being taught in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati and Bengali, said Shah.
On the sidelines of the release of Hindi textbooks for three subjects for MBBS students in Madhya Pradesh, Shah said that the conduct of exams in Indian languages will immensely help students.
On Sunday, Shah released textbooks in Hindi of three subjects for the first year MBBS students as part of the ambitious project of the Madhya Pradesh government to impart medical education in the Hindi language.
The Home Minister termed it historic and said it will enhance the abilities of students and also allow them to overcome the 'inferiority complex' of not knowing English.
He further said that the Centre is working on starting technical and medical education in eight other languages in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah said, “Studying in own language will enhance students' abilities. They should come out of their linguistic inferiority complex as today there is a government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and they can showcase their abilities in their language.”
Shah also hailed PM Modi for speaking in Hindi on international platforms and said while some forces in the world have adopted the 'brain drain' theory, PM Modi has changed the same theory to 'brain gain'.
The Home Minister also predicted an 'educational revolution' due to the restoration of pride in Indian languages through the New Education Policy adopted by the Centre.
“Language is only a medium of expression whereas intellectual ability is a natural gift which can be improved through education, and if education is given in the mother tongue, it will prove beneficial in improving the intellectual ability,” added Shah.

On the other hand, the University Grant Commission (UGC) is already planning to merge the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) with the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).
