Cyber criminals are coming up with new techniques to dupe people across the country. Such scamsters are exploiting the several loopholes in the cyber space to deceive people in innovative ways including sharing of links or by setting up bogus websites.
The All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) has warned public and other stake holders about such fake websites which are in circulation.
In its latest circular, the AICTE has clarified the URL of its official website is https://aicte-india.org. The public should always use the official website to check all the latest updates and for any financial transactions. “It has been observed that some websites with similar looking URLs like- www.aictsd.com, www.aictetindia.org, etc do not belong to AICTE,” the AICTE public notice read.

The Council has further clarified that, “Any individual or group or stake holder using such or any other website for financial transaction or for any other purpose shall be doing so at their own risk, for which AICTE shall not be responsible.”
The notice assumes considerable significance as it is aimed at preventing the stake holders as well as students to fall prey to such fake websites and end up in losing money to such cyber criminals who are always on the prowl for potential targets.
Earlier, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) had taken a strict note of instances where some of the institutions were offering technical education programs without necessary approvals. “Any Institution not having prior approval from AICTE and conducting programs / Courses as outlined above, is liable to Punitive / Legal action in accordance with para 11 & 12 of AICTE Regulation (1st Amendment,2021) as notified in the Gazette of India vide F.No. AB/AICTE/REG/2020 (1st Amendment, 2021) dated 24.02.2021,” the previous notice read.
