Mystery shrouds the death of a youth whose body was found near a nullah at Telnadi village under Umekote police limits in Nabarangpur district on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Ramsing Jani.
It is suspected that Ramsing has been stoned to death by an unknown miscreant. The deceased hailed from Daumal village and he had gone to the house of a person at Telnadi village as a guest along with his wife some 15 days back.
Apart from Ramsing, one Naresh Dharua and his wife Bhagwati from Niana village had also come to Telnadi village. On December 21 night, both Ramsing and Naresh had left home to consume liquor. However, Ramsing did not return till late evening the next day.
Subsequently, the family members launched a frantic search and Ramsing’s body was recovered from near the nullah today. Ramsing’s wife alleged that he was murdered. Senior police officials have reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
