The incident in which a group of masked youths unleashed terror by brandishing swords and attacking vehicles at Sisupalgarh in Bhubaneswar on Monday night has come as a major concern for the local residents. The incident indicates some group clashes.
One of the groups wielding swords damaged three to four bikes. The miscreants initially had come to attack some local youths who had a close shave after they entered a club. However, three youths have also sustained injuries in the attack, sources said. The entire act has been captured in the CCTV camera installed at the spot.
The traffic movement on the Bhubaneswar–Puri route was also affected for quite some time following the incident.
“We did not have any enmity with anyone. The miscreants wielded swords and other sharp weapons. We always used to spend time in the club. The incident occurred at around 9:30 pm yesterday. They misbehaved and hurled abuses at us and started attacking the vehicles,” said a victim.
Another victim said, “We are now in a state of fear as locals from nearby areas came and unleashed terror. Police need to take appropriate action in this case.”
“Had the miscreants attacked a person instead of bikes, he would have died on the spot,” said a local resident.
