Two youths were arrested on Wednesday night after brandishing a gun at a marriage procession in Cuttack.
The accused have been identified as Sandeep Patra and his friend Prashant.
As per reports, the marriage procession was heading towards the LIC colony from Badambadi when the incident happened, prompting the locals to call the police.
Speaking about the incident, ACP, Zone 6, Cuttack, Amarendra Panda said, “Officers of Badambadi police station reached the spot and nabbed the accused. When we asked about the pistol, he confessed that he has brought that from another guy who was also present at the baraat.”
“The owner of the gun said that he has license for the same. However, brandishing a fire arm in the open is an offence. So a case has been registered in this connection,” he said.
The police have seized the gun and four rounds of ammunition with it.
Both the accused have been forwarded to court.
