Transgender performer found dead under mysterious circumstances in Ganjam

A tragic and mysterious incident has come to light in Phasiguda village under Digapahandi police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district, where the body of a transgender was found in a locked house. The deceased has been identified as Archita Bishoyi, a transgender individual known for performing in traditional Danda Nacha festivals.

According to local sources, Archita had actively participated in the Danda Nacha celebrations held in the village just a day earlier. As part of the performance troupe, she had enacted various devotional roles along with other artists. After the event concluded late at night, Archita had reportedly stayed back in a house in the village to rest.

However, the situation turned grim the following morning when her lifeless body was discovered under suspicious circumstances, raising serious concerns and speculation among the locals about the cause of death.

Upon receiving the information, police officials from Digapahandi Police Station rushed to the spot and began a detailed investigation. The body has been recovered and sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death. Preliminary reports do not indicate any signs of physical assault, but the mysterious nature of the discovery has led to widespread speculation.

Local residents and Danda Nacha organizers expressed their shock and grief over the untimely demise of Archita, who was known for her talent and warm interactions with the community.

Police have not ruled out any possibility yet and have assured a thorough probe into the incident. Further investigation is underway, and forensic analysis and post-mortem reports will be crucial in determining whether it was a case of natural death, suicide, or something more sinister.
