Continuing tough stand against corrupt and inefficient officials, the Odisha government on Thursday handed down compulsory retirement to three while another was dismissed from service on disciplinary grounds.
Among those given compulsory retirement is the Community Organiser of Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (formerly worked as executive officer of Jatani Municipality and Chhatrapur NAC) Lalita Kapoor. She faces two cases of siphoning off government funds and other corruption charges.
Similarly, Loknath Tiwari, Executive Officer of Belpahad Municipality has also been given compulsory retirement due to inefficiency and dishonesty.
Moreover, Ramchandra Pradhan, former Executive Officer, Jharsuguda Municipality has been given compulsory retirement due to inefficiency, dishonesty and financial irregularities.
Manoj Kumar Parida, Revenue Inspector, Betal RI Circle, Puri district has been dismissed from service due to abuse, disorder and dereliction of duty and disobeying orders of the higher authorities.
In addition, the pension of Srikanth Mishra, former Additional SP of Bolangir and former DSP, Home Guard and A Udaynath, former AFO, Bellaguntha block in Ganjam has been permanently stopped. The move came after allegations of corruption against them were proved.
Yesterday, the Odisha Government had ordered compulsory retirement of four Coaches of Odisha Council of Sports on grounds of inefficiency and dereliction of duty.
The four coaches dismissed from service have been identified as Pravakar Tripathy and Jnanandra Prasad Badhei, both coaches in Volleyball, Shankar Prasad Adhikari a coach in Boxing, and Manoj Kumar Das, Handball coach.
So far action has been taken against 140 officers on charges of corruption.
