Unidentified miscreants allegedly kidnapped a youth after attacking his father at Nandipada village in Keonjhar district. As per reports, the father-son duo was returning from court when the incident occurred.

Sources said, Narendra Nayak along with his son Sanatan had gone to depose before Hatadihi court. While returning, some youths allegedly intercepted them and kidnapped Sanatan after assaulting his father.

On getting information, family members and relatives rushed to the spot and rushed Narendra to Anandapur hospital.

Narendra's wife Padmabati has lodged a complaint in connection with the incident at Nandipada police station. In her complaint, Padmabati alleged to have received a phone call demanding Rs 5 lakh as ransom for the release of her son Sanatan.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sanatan had borrowed money from several sources after losing money in online games. As he could not repay the money, Sanatan was arrested after a case was registered against him.

Sanatan had gone to the court to appear in the case when the alleged kidnapping occurred while returning home.

Meanwhile, the abducted youth was reportedly rescued from a forest today. Cops have detained some of the kidnappers who are currently under interrogation.
