Social activist shot dead in Odisha's Rayagada, probe begins

A social activist has been shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Gunupur area of Rayagada district. The deceased has been identified as Gauri Mishra, director of NGO, ASHA.

The body of Mishra was recovered from Bansadhara Bridge on a bike. As a bullet injury mark has been found on Mishra's body, it is suspected that he was shot from a close range.

Though the exact reason behind the murder is not clear, police have started an investigation into the matter.

A team of forensic experts also visited the spot from where Mishra's body was recovered for a detailed investigation.
