The Markatnagr police in Cuttack on Sunday busted a sex racket running out of a hotel and arrested five, including two women, one of whom was the kingpin of the racket. The hotel manager has also been detained for questioning.
While the identity of the arrested persons are yet to be revealed, the police said the other three accused include a customer, a pimp and a staff of the hotel where the flesh trade was going on.
The Markatnagar police were tipped of that a sex racket was running from a hotel right behind the Markatnagar police station.
The police investigation is underway to find out since when the sex racket was operating at the hotel and if some others are involved in it.
“We have arrested two women and three men for their involvement in running the sex racket. The hotel manager has also been detained for questioning. We have seized Rs 13,000 in cash, six mobile phones and other incriminating articles from the hotel rooms,” said additional DCP, Cuttack, Anil Kumar Mishra.
