Received extortion threat before suspension from BJP: Suniti Mund

Suniti Mund, recently suspended from BJP on anti-party activity charges, revealed she received extortion threats from Sudhansu Nayak. Mund alleged Nayak demanded Rs 20 lakh after paying Rs 10 lakh to Daksha Communication for election management.

I have not received money from anyone through unfair means, said Suniti Mund, who was recently suspended from the state BJP party on charges of anti-party activities.

Mund, who was a BJP candidate for the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor post in 2022, visited the DCP office in Bhubaneswar on Monday. 

While answering the queries of journalists, she said Sudhansu Nayak of Bhandaripokhari had been harassing her and threatening to smash her political career if she didn’t pay him Rs 20 lakh.

“He has alleged that he had given me Rs 20 lakh which is baseless. He had paid Rs 10 lakh to my professional organisation Daksha Communication towards election campaigning and management. Now, he has been demanding Rs 20 lakh from me. He had been harassing me mentally for the last two and a half months,” said Mind.
