Hours after a constable was stabbed in Bhubaneswar, another constable’s palm sustained extensive damage in an attack by a miscreant in Sambalpur on Friday. The injured constable has been identified as Saroj Bhoi who is posted at Burla police station.
As per reports, Bhoi’s right palm and three fingers have been damaged in the attack launched by the miscreant. Sources said that the constable was attacked after a police team reached a spot on getting information regarding a clash at Jharapali village.

It is alleged that a clash within a family was reported over some issues. Later, a police team reached the spot to get first hand information about the incident and investigation. On seeing the constable, the accused attacked him with some sharp weapon.
Following the attack, the injured constable was first rushed to Burla hospital and was given primary treatment. He is likely to be shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital for advance treatment.
