Mystery over Assistant executive engineer’s death in Kalahandi

Mystery shrouds the death of Ranjit Karji, an assistant executive engineer, whose body was recovered from his official quarters at Mukhiguda area in Dharmagarh of Kalahandi district on Friday. Ranjit was posted at the office of the superintending engineer of the Indravati Project.

As per sources, some of his relatives had come to take Ranjit home at Rayagada. But Ranjit had refused to accompany them after some dispute. Sources said Ranjit was alone at his quarters last night and his body was recovered this morning.

The exact reason behind Ranjit’s death is unclear. It is said that Ranjit had consumed alcohol last night and the door of his room was locked from inside. Ranjit was reportedly staying alone in the quarters.

Only after a detailed investigation, the exact reason behind Ranjit’s death can be ascertained.

Police have started an investigation and the body of the assistant executive engineer has been sent for autopsy to Jaipatna Hospital.
