The severely injured body of a youth was found at a construction site in Mancheswar area of Bhubaneswar on Friday morning.
As per reports, the deceased, identified as Mukesh Choudhary, lived in Munda Sahi under Mancheswar Police limits of the capital city. He worked as a house painter.
Ranjan Kumar Sahoo, a local resident said, "Some children found someone’s head buried under bricks and informed me. I went with them and identified the deceased after removing the bricks."
Prakash Yadav, the site contractor, said, “My labourers informed me about seeing a body buried under bricks when they came to unload a trip of bricks at the construction site. I immediately went to the spot and found some locals gathered at the site. Upon inquiring they informed me about finding the body buried under bricks. I immediately informed the police."
The police arrived at the spot upon receiving the information about the finding and removed the body.
"The Mancheswar police confiscated the body of the youth. Prima facie evidence indicates that the youth was murdered as the body bore several injury marks. Police and the forensic teams arrived at the spot for carrying out the investigation. We have launched a probe into the incident and have sent the body for post mortem," said Umashankar Das, DCP, Bhubaneswar.
However, the police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the murder and the identity of the suspects.
