Murder in Bhubaneswar! Body dumped from jeep in broad daylight, police begin probe

Panic gripped the local residents after they spotted the body of a man on a road near Congress Bhawan in Bhubaneswar at around 10 am on Wednesday. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

The exact reason behind the man’s death is still unclear. Police have started an investigation and sent the body for autopsy.

Locals suspect it to be a murder case as they had spotted a jeep near the spot. Soon they noticed the body of the man lying near the same spot where the jeep had halted for some time.

“We had spotted the body at around 10.20 am. We were inside. A jeep came and halted near the spot. We did not see who were sitting in the vehicle. Later, we spotted the body lying on the road,” said a local resident.

Locals further said that they had not seen the youths dumping the body. But the body was recovered from the spot soon after the vehicle left the spot.

The IIC of Capital Police Station said, “We got a call at around 11 am that a person was lying unconscious near Congress Bhawan and he was later shifted to hospital. There is no injury mark on the body. Locals alleged that a car was spotted near the spot and we are examining CCTV footage and other aspects as well.”
