Misuse of BSKY cards: 5 in Cuttack held for siphoning off lakhs through false bills

As per the allegations, the concerned staff of the private hospital ‘South Point’ along with some middlemen were allegedly withdrawing lakhs of rupees by creating false bills without admitting patients.

Bayalish Mouza police station on Tuesday arrested five persons including some staff of a private hospital in Cuttack on the charges of siphoning off government assistance under the Odisha government’s flagship programme- the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY).

As per the allegations, the concerned staff of the private hospital ‘South Point’ along with some middlemen were allegedly withdrawing lakhs of rupees by creating false bills without admitting patients. The actual card holders or the beneficiaries were handed over a paltry amount of Rs 2,000 each while the accused claimed lakhs of rupees from the state government towards treatment.
