Manish Anurag Death Case: 2 Suspects Surrender Before Police In Phulbani

Police on Wednesday got a major breakthrough in the high profile death case of senior journalist Navin Das' son Manish Anurag, with two suspects stated to be involved in the case surrendering before the Phulbani Police.

Police on Wednesday got a major breakthrough in the high profile death case of senior journalist Navin Das' son Manish Anurag, with two suspects stated to be involved in the case surrendering before the Phulbani Police.

As per reports, a police team from Bhubaneswar had already picked up one suspect from Phulbani on Tuesday. Hours later, two other suspects surrendered here today.

Speaking to the reporters, Mahendra Murmu, the SDPO of Phulbani said, “The suspects are being questioned and a police team from Bhubaneswar is also arriving soon to quiz them.

The two suspects have been identified as Mrutyunjay Mishra and Dinesh Mohapatra, both from Peonpada and Amalapada respectively in Phulbani.

The Commissionerate police on Tuesday detained one of the two persons who allegedly accompanied Manish in a car on Saturday night. The police have also seized the car in which the trio travelled.

Notably, the body of Manish, the son of senior journalist Navin Das was recovered under mysterious circumstances from a pond at Patrapada on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Sunday afternoon. He had reportedly gone missing from a location under Infocity police limits on Saturday.

It was also alleged that Manish had been abducted by two persons in a car from Infocity area on Saturday night. The abductors had also reportedly made a ransom call to the family members.
