Man kills parents over family dispute in Odisha's Keonjhar

In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his father and mother over some family dispute at Basira village under Champua police limits in Keonjhar district on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Gora Munda, and his wife Pali Munda.

As per reports, the deceased couple entered into a verbal altercation with their son Dhyana Munda over some family dispute at around 8 am today. Things took an ugly turn after the accused Dhyana Munda attacked his father with a sharp-edged weapon, leading to his death on the spot, sources said.

In a bid to save her husband, Pali also sustained critical injuries after the accused attacked her too. She was rushed to the local sub-divisional hospital for treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.

On getting information, Champua police officials reached the spot and detained the accused Dhyana Munda. Police have started an investigation into the incident while the bodies were sent for post-mortem.
