Man beheads wife over 'extra-marital' affair, walks with severed head for 12km

In a horrifying incident, a man allegedly beheaded his wife and walked with her severed head for almost 12 kilometres before being detained. 

The incident took place at Chandrasekharpur village under Gaandia police limits in Dhenkanal district on Friday. 

According to sources the accused identified as Nakafodi Majhi reportedly hacked his wife Suchala Majhi with a sharp weapon suspecting her involvement in extramarital affair. 

Later, locals stopped him near Janghira under Sadar police limits while he was carrying her wife's head in his hands. 

Acting on information, Gaandia police reached the spot and seized the severed head before detaining the accused for interrogation. 

The accused, however, admitted to have committed the crime.
