In an interesting turn of events, the sensational murder case of Mamita Meher has now brought a father-son duo to fight for justice wearing black coats.
While Congress Legislature Party leader Narasingha Mishra is fighting the case to give justice to the slain lady teacher’s family, his son Amarendra is appearing as special PP in the lower court.
Senior Mishra who is also the MLA from Bolangir donned the black court after a PIL alleging conspiracy and negligent investigation into the murder case was filed in the High Court.
Hearing the case in virtual mode, the High Court had directed the petitioner to go to the lower court. Interestingly, at the Kantabanji ADJ Court, the Congress leader’s son Amarendra Mishra is now set to fight the case.
The case was scheduled to be heard on April 18 but had to be postponed due to severe heat weave.
“They had filed a petition alleging that the copies of the police papers and expert reports have not been given to them. I have filed an objection on that,” said Amarendra.
Narasingha Mishra on the other hand said, “We both have one aim. A Special PP’s aim is to ensure punishment to the accused which is my aim as well.”
