Lady sarpanch's husband, father-in-law brutally killed in Odisha's Rayagada
In an unsettling incident that has shaken the residents of Sarigada village in Rayagada district, two family members of the village sarpanch were brutally murdered by unidentified miscreants on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Agadhu Gamang, the husband of Likitipada's Sarpanch, and Semera Gamang, (father-in-law of the sarpanch). The bodies of Agadhu and his father Semera, were tragically discovered at the village outskirts.
Investigation Launched
On being informed, Padmapur police rushed to the village and initiated a detailed investigation into the double murder. The motive behind this heinous crime remains undetermined as the entire panchayat grapples with the shock and fear induced by the event.
While the exact reason for the horrific murder is yet to be ascertained, police suspect ‘previous enmity’ to be the reason for the brutal murder.
Local police have heavily invested in collecting evidence and interrogating potential witnesses. A senior officer stated, “We are exploring all possible leads and canvassing the area for any information that might shed light on the perpetrators.”
