Mystery shrouds the death of a lady Junior Engineer (JE) whose body was recovered from a locked house in Bhograi in Balasore district on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Monalisa Hembrum.
Monalisa was unmarried and was staying at a rented accommodation near the Thana chhak area. Her body was found hanging inside the room. It is not clear whether Monalisa ended her life by suicide or has been murdered.
Police officials have reached the spot and started an investigation.
Junior Engineer Harekrushna Marandi said, “ It was only six months back she had joined her duty. After I got the information, I came to the spot. As the room was locked, we have no information on whether it is a suicide or murder. We want a detailed investigation into the matter.”
According to Marandi, the deceased JE hails from Baripada. “It did not appear that she was upset or depressed as she had attended her work and meetings. What happened after that, we do not know anything,” he added.
