Keonjhar couple shot dead over minor tiff

In a shocking incident, a couple was shot dead over a petty issue at Lasarda village under Balani police limits in Keonjhar district. The deceased have been identified as Laxmidhar Apat and his wife Manjulata Apat.

According to sources, the couple ran a small grocery store in the village. Late Monday night, a few people had come to their store to buy petrol. However, a scuffle broke out due to some reason. 

As the scuffle intensified, the men, yet to be identified, opened fire at the couple and fled the scene. The couple was rushed to Barbil government hospital. However, the doctors declared them dead upon arrival.

The incident has sent a shockwave in the village. Tension continued to prevail at the village with locals demanding immediate arrest of the miscreants.
