I-T raids on Sundargarh coal businessman continue for second day

The Income Tax sleuths carried out their searches on the property of Bibhu Panda, a Sundargarh-based businessman, for the second consecutive day on Saturday. 

The raids were conducted at several locations including his residences in Sundargarh and Hemgir on Friday. The simultaneous raids were conducted on charges of evading tax for a long time. Panda is reportedly involved in the business of coal.

A team of eight senior I-T officials carried out the raids which continued for the whole night yesterday. During the raids, some important documents were seized, informed sources. 

As the raids are underway, further details on the charges are yet to be established.
