A police team from Surat in Gujarat arrested a woman from a village in Kandhamal district allegedly for killing her husband in Surat. 

The police have identified the accused as Sabita Nayak and her deceased husband as Naresh Nayak.

According to reports, Naresh along with his wife Sabita and two daughters had been living in Surat for last 25 years. He was working as a labourer there. One day, the couple had a verbal duel over some family issues. After this, Sabita hatched a plan and killed her husband. 

After killing her husband, Sabita fled Surat and holed up in her village Dakedi under G. Udayagiri police station. 

Acting on a tip-off, the investigating team from Surat reached G.Udayagiri and with the help of G. Udayagiri police arrested Sabita. 

The police are investigating to find out how Sabita killed her husband and if she took help from anyone in carrying out the crime. 

The incident has become a matter of discussion in the locality.
