Four elephant tusks seized, 5 persons arrested in Odisha's Jashipur

Four pieces of elephant tusks have been seized while five persons have been arrested following a raid in the Jashipur area in the Mayurbhanj district.

As per initial reports, a team consisting of ACF, ROs and dedicated staff of Similipal south, Similipal north and Rairangpur division headed by Deputy director Similipal south division conducted a raid and recovered the tusks.

It is still not clear whether the arrested accused are poachers or traders. The forest department officials are expected to share more information at a presser later in the day today.
