It seems that property-related disputes are on the rise in different parts of Odisha. This time, a man and his son were left battling for life after a youth allegedly threw acid on them over property dispute at Uasapadar village under Krushnaprasad block of Puri district.
As per initial reports, Adhikari Tarei and his son Rajendra have sustained critical burn injuries on different parts of their bodies in the acid attack. Both Adhikari and his son were initially rushed to Krushnaprasad Community Health Centre and later shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
Sources said that Adhikari and his son were doing some work when the accused identified as Santosh Moharana attacked them with acid.
Both Adhikari and his son were carrying out some work in the farmland behind their house today when the incident occurred.
Gadadhar Tarai, a relative said, “There was some dispute between the two families. The father and son had gone to clean the farmland to start some agricultural activities. The accused had earlier also threatened Adhikari and his family and today he threw acid on them.”
Meanwhile, police officials have detained accused Santosh Moharana and further investigation in this connection is underway.
