Are the criminals using lethal weapons like the AK-47? Well it seems so after one AK-47 was recovered from a dreaded criminal following an encounter under Chandiposh police limits in Rourkela.
As per initial reports, the criminal has sustained injury in the encounter and has been admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH).
Two more criminals, who were present at the spot, have also been detained. Sources said that criminals hail from neighbouring Jharkhand and further investigation is underway.
"The injured criminal has sustained bullet injury and two others have been arrested. We have recovered sophisticated weapons including AK47 and live ammunition," said Rourkela SP.
The SP further informed that the police had some inputs regarding the criminals and patrolling and checking was intensified in the region.
"Only after a detailed interrogation of the criminals, we can further divulge information," the SP added.
