The Kharavela Nagar Police on Monday registered an FIR in the mysterious death of DJ Azex alias Akshay Moharana under Section 306, abetment to suicide.
As per police sources, the FIR was registered following a complaint from Moharana’s parents who alleged that a girl, who is said to be the girlfriend of the deceased, and her male friend are responsible for his death.
The call details and WhatsApp chats of the deceased will be examined.
Speaking about the case, Manas Ranjan Garnaik, Bhubaneswar Zone-1 ACP said, “A case has been registered under section 306 based on the complaint filed by Akshay Moharana’s parents. An experienced police team is probing the case. We got the password of his mobile phone today and it is being analysed by the police.”
“We have found specific data pertaining to Moharana’s suicide from his mobile phone. Based on the complaint and the mobile phone data, we will question whomever we find connected with the case. If we find any evidence against the rumoured girlfriend and his male friend, we will definitely interrogate them,” said Garnaik.
DJ Azex, one of the most prominent DJs in the country, was reportedly found dead under mysterious circumstances at his Kharavela Nagar residence in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
As per the family members of Moharana, there was a power cut during a thunderstorm on Saturday and Azex was inside his room. When they went to call him at around 10 pm, they found his door closed. Later, they found his body hanging after they broke open the door.
