Even as the omission and commission of Bolangir Police in the Mamita murder case have received widespread flak from all quarters, the power-wielding status of main accused Gobinda Sahu was to fore today.
As per the statement of Mamita's father, their FIR copy on missing Mamita was written by Gobinda Sahu himself.
"Gobinda Sahu himself wrote an FIR for us and went in a hurry to the Kegaon Police before us, possibly to bribe or threaten the officials. When I reached the Police station with the FIR, the Police did not accept my FIR,” said Mamita’s father Suchandra Meher.
The Police at Kegaon Station, instead, asked me to file the FIR at Tureikela Police station, he added.
The new statement of the deceased victim's father not only added a new dimension to the murder case but also brought to glare the influence of Sahu in the Bolangir police circles.
With Gobinda Sahu's proximity to MoS (Home) Dibya Shankar Mishra, who happens to be the minister of Odisha police, is being well known, the Opposition - BJP and Congress- seeks dismissal of the Minister from State Cabinet.

• If the incident happened under Sindhekela Police limits why was Sahu taken to Titilagarh Police barracks?
• Police said Sahu climbed the boundary wall which was fortified with barbed wire during my term as the DGP.
• Climbing up such a high wall is doubtful when the Police himself had told that Sahu had a wound on his leg due to diabetes?
Meanwhile, as per reports, both the accused - Sahu and the JCB driver Radhe Tandi - are lodged at the Kantabanjhi sub-jail in separate cells. While Sahu is kept in cell number 1, his associate Radhe is in cell number 3.
The Assistant Jailor of the Sub-Jail said, “They have been put in separate cells and are not allowed to meet.”
