DA case: Vigilance arrests Malkangiri JE Sanjay Kumar Mohanty

Following simultaneous searches, the Vigilance officials on Thursday arrested Sanjay Kumar Mohanty, a Junior Engineer (JE) of the Water Resources Department, CADA division in Malkangiri district. Mohanty has been arrested on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Vigilance officials informed that disproportionate assets to the tune of 236 percent of his known sources of income have been detected. Mohanty was arrested late on Wednesday night and has been remanded to jail custody till February 13, 2024.

“After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sanjay Kumar Mohanty were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which were 236% in excess of his known sources of income,” the Vigilance said in a release.
