Chhattisgarh youths injured in firing at Biju Expressway in Odisha

Two persons have sustained critical injuries after unidentified miscreants opened fire at them on Biju Expressway near Kutra in Sundargarh district on Friday. The injured have been identified as Bikram Tandon and Sunil Ratnakar. The duo hails from Raigarh in neighbouring Chhattisgarh.

As per initial reports, both Tandon and Ratnakar were travelling in a pickup van when four unidentified persons wearing masks intercepted them near Biju Expressway at Kutra region in Odisha.

The miscreants then fired several rounds in which both the persons sustained bullet injuries in chest and other body parts. Later, they were shifted to Sundargarh hospital. SDPO Himanshu Behera said, “On getting information, our team reached the spot and started an investigation.

Both the injured hail from Chhattisgarh and were coming to a relative’s house in Rourkela when they were attacked.” Behera said as 'both the injured are not in a stable condition, we have not come to any conclusion regarding the exact reason behind the firing incident'.
