Caught on camera: Miscreants snatch gold jewellery from woman on Bhubaneswar streets

Despite a plethora of measures by the Commissionerate Police to flatten the rising crime graph in Bhubaneswar, gangs of chain snatchers seem to be having a field day in the State capital. 

Amid repeated instances of crimes in the city, another case of chain snatching incident has been reported from Laxmisagar area, raising serious concern among the city dwellers.

According to sources, two bike-borne miscreants snatched gold ornaments from a woman near Oscar city area on March 19. The entire incident has been captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the area.

In the CCTV footage, a miscreant can be seen chasing a woman while his aide was waiting for him on a bike.

The woman falls down after being chased by the miscreant. The looter then overpowered the woman and fled the spot with his accomplice after committing the crime.

Though a case has been registered at Laxmisagar police station in connection with case, police are yet to make any arrests.
