The security guard deployed at Sky Tower residential apartment near Hi-Tech Plaza square under Airfield Police limits in Bhubaneswar said that arrested I&PR Director, Niranjan Sethi was a regular at the office-cum-residence of Sarmistha Rout, key wanted accused in the sensational cameraman Manas Swain murder case.
Requesting not to be named, the security guard said, “Niranjan Sethi used to come here (Sky Tower) twice or thrice a week. And madam (Sarmistha) had clearly instructed me to not make any entry in the visitor’s log book regarding Sethi’s visit. I had once recorded his entry. But after that, madam instructed me to not repeat the mistake. She identified Sethi as the Chairman of her organisation and told me to allow him to enter the society without signing the register,” the guard added.
While the prime accused in the sensational murder case of cameraman Manas Swain, Sarmistha, remains away from the clutches of the police, the car she used has been recovered on Wednesday.
As per reports, the Police have recovered the car used by Sharmistha from the very building, ‘Sky Tower’ apartments where she lived.
Meanwhile, the Chandbali Police have nabbed Parmeswar, the brother of Sarmistha from Vijaywada and brought him for questioning. Parmeswar is said to be the one who helped Sharmistha in escaping the police net after murder came to light.
Police said cameraman Manas Swain was kidnapped from Bhadrak on February 6 and taken to an old age home run by Sarmistha where he was reportedly murdered. His body was recovered from Badhipatna hills in Rajsunakhala area of Nayagarh on March 12.
