Bhubaneswar asst engineer's properties raided by vigilance in DA case

Vigilance sleuths on Monday conducted simultaneous raids at six places including the house of Manas Ranjan Samal, Assistant Engineer of General Public Health Division-I, Bhubaneswar, on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.

According to sources, simultaneous searches are being conducted in Cuttack, Jatani, Bhubaneswar, Jagatsingpur and Salipur by teams of the anti-corruption agency led by three DSPs, 11 Inspectors, two sub inspectors, five sub inspectors and other staff.

Vigilance searches are underway at Samal’s triple storyed building in Cuttack, single storyed building located at Champatipatna in Salipur, flat in Jatani, residential house of his relative located at Gandikapur in Jagatsinghpur, friend’s house in Salipur and his officer chamber at GPH Division No-I at Bhubaneswar.

While exact details on the raids will be known later, the Vigilance teams are said to have already laid their hands on many crucial documents related to the property of the officer.
