Bhawanipatna Sadar Police on Tuesday arrested five persons, including four web channel journalists for their alleged involvement in the loot of Rs 2.55 lakh from a Kantabanji-based businessman.
As per reports, the cash was allegedly looted from the businessman on October 2, 2024. The victim had subsequently lodged a complaint at Sadar police station in connection with the loot.
Later carrying out the probe, Saintala Police first picked two persons while they tried to escape. Subsequently, four journalists of web channels were detained.

Sources said all four accused journalists were today arrested after the investigation. They will be produced before the court after their medical examination. Meanwhile, police suspect the involvement of eight persons in the loot of cash from the businessman.
