The Commissionerate Police on Tuesday demolished several shops which were set up illegally on government land at Delta Square in Bhubaneswar. The move from the police came after a group clash last evening.
According to source, a clash erupted between two group over a monetary dispute on Monday evening. The fight took an ugly turn when the members of one group ransacked and torched an SUV parked at the spot.
The police have arrested four persons in connection with the case. The arrested persons have been identified as- Susil Rout, Biswajit Rout, Raju Pradhan and Sudhir Barik, sources informed.
Meanwhile, a video of the entire incident has surfaced in which at least 10 miscreants can be seen creating ruckus on the road before torching the SUV.
The police have also launched a manhunt to nab other miscreants involved in the clash.
“Monetary dispute between two groups triggered the group clash. We have arrested four persons and identified others who are involved in the case. Their illegal business establishments have been razed and we will ensure that they do not re-establish their shops on the government land,” said a top police officer.
